Tragic Telangana Factory Blast: Death Toll Rises to 42 in Chemical Plant Explosion

In a devastating industrial accident, the death toll from the explosion at Sigachi Chemical Industry in Pashamylaram, Telangana, has risen to 42, with rescue teams recovering more bodies from the debris. The blast, which occurred on Monday, has left the nation in shock as authorities continue search operations.

What Happened?

suspected reactor explosion triggered a massive blast and fire at the pharmaceutical plant in Sangareddy district. The impact was so severe that workers were reportedly thrown into the air, landing nearly 100 meters away from the site.

Rescue Efforts Continue

Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)HYDRAA, and Telangana Fire Disaster Response are working tirelessly to clear debris and locate survivors.

District SP Paritosh Pankaj stated:

“Several bodies have been found under the debris… The last leg of the rescue operation is still going on.”

Government Response

  • Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is expected to visit the site today.
  • Governor Jishnu Dev Varma expressed grief and directed officials to provide all necessary assistance to victims.
  • Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha confirmed that around 90 employees were present during the explosion.
